1. The software

GhostSnap is a macOS application that automatically compresses screenshots, batches them to your clipboard, and provides OCR text capture and annotation tools. It is developed and distributed directly (outside the Mac App Store) by its developer.

GhostSnap requires macOS 13 Ventura or later and runs on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs.

2. License

Upon purchase, you are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use GhostSnap on up to two (2) Macs that you own or control.

You may not:

• Copy, redistribute, sublicense, or resell GhostSnap
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the application
• Remove or modify any copyright or license notices
• Use GhostSnap on more than two Macs under a single license

3. Pricing and payment

GhostSnap is sold as a one-time purchase. You pay once and own the license permanently. There are no subscriptions or recurring fees.

The current price is $6.99 (early bird). Prices may change at any time for new purchases; existing licenses are not affected by price changes.

Payment is processed by a third-party provider. We do not store your payment details.

4. Free updates

Your purchase includes all future updates to GhostSnap at no additional cost. Major version upgrades may, at our discretion, require a new purchase, but we will provide advance notice if that ever applies.

5. Refund policy

We want you to be satisfied. If GhostSnap does not work as described on your Mac, reach us via our contact page within 14 days of purchase and we will issue a full refund, no questions asked.

EU residents: Under EU consumer law (Directive 2011/83/EU), you have the right to withdraw from a digital purchase within 14 days. By downloading and starting to use GhostSnap, you acknowledge that delivery has begun and agree that the 14-day withdrawal right applies as described above.

6. Apple notarization

GhostSnap is notarized by Apple, meaning it has been scanned by Apple's automated security systems. macOS verifies the notarization on first launch. Notarization confirms the app is free of known malware and has not been tampered with. It is not an endorsement of the app by Apple.

GhostSnap is distributed outside the Mac App Store because the system-level features it uses (Accessibility API, global event monitoring) are not permitted under App Store sandbox restrictions.

7. Required macOS permissions

GhostSnap requires certain macOS permissions to function. You will be prompted to grant these on first use:

• Accessibility: to detect the Cmd+V paste shortcut for batch clipboard reset
• Screen Recording: to enable OCR text capture via interactive region selection

Denying these permissions will disable the respective features but will not affect other functionality.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

GhostSnap is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that GhostSnap will be error-free, uninterrupted, or compatible with every macOS update or third-party application.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of GhostSnap, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of screenshots.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms or your use of GhostSnap shall not exceed the amount you paid for the license.

10. Acceptable use

You agree to use GhostSnap only for lawful purposes. You agree not to use GhostSnap to capture, process, or distribute content that infringes copyright, violates privacy rights, or is otherwise illegal in your jurisdiction.

11. Termination

Your license terminates automatically if you breach any of these terms. Upon termination, you must stop using GhostSnap and delete all copies from your devices.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer is located, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of GhostSnap after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
